Oral presentation and presentation of the first SURFs UP prototypes at In-Cosmetics Global 2025

Amsterdam, Netherlands – 8th April 2025

On the 8th of April 2025, the SURFs UP project was prominently featured at In-Cosmetics Global 2025 in Amsterdam, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for personal care ingredients and innovations.

AmphiStar, one of the key industrial partners of the SURFs UP consortium, delivered an oral presentation outlining the project's scope, the progress achieved so far, and the roadmap for future developments.

The presentation highlighted the valorisation of lignin and other industrial residues through biotechnological processes to produce biosurfactants tailored for use in cosmetic formulations. In addition to the presentation, AmphiStar hosted a dedicated booth where the first SURFs UP biosurfactant prototypes and formulations were displayed.

These innovative products were tested and evaluated by numerous potential B2B and B2C end-users, including cosmetics brands and formulation specialists. The event served as a major milestone in the project’s dissemination strategy, offering valuable feedback from industry stakeholders and reinforcing the commercial potential of sustainable, bio-based surfactants.

The project is supported by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking and its members under grant agreement No 101157586 and UKRI grant agreement No 10115826.
